John Lauber is a CPA and founded LauberCFOs in 1986, a firm that pioneered the Part-time CFO concept. In 2001 an Executive Search practice for financial professionals was added. Lauber sold the business in 2017 and the name was changed to Lauber Business Partners, Inc. reflecting that new services have been added in support of small and mid-sized businesses.

He started his career in the Milwaukee office of Arthur Andersen, an international accounting firm. After leaving public accounting in 1978, Lauber served as the Chief Financial Officer for 4 Milwaukee area businesses prior to starting LauberCFOs.
Over the years Lauber has served in numerous officer and board positions for school, church, civic and professional organizations. Lauber was a 2009 recipient of the Bravo Entrepreneur Award and from 2008 to 2016 he served as a Judge for The Business Journal’s CFO of the Year Award program.
Today Lauber splits time between client work, volunteer activities and relaxing at their lake home near their 2 grandchildren in Northwest Indiana.
